Confirm that Heat is selected and the set temperature is above room temperature. A fan set to On can circulate unheated air between heating cycles. Persistent cool air can also involve airflow, ignition, controls or a safety shutdown, so it needs diagnosis. Do not bypass a safety switch or repeatedly reset equipment that locks out. When requesting service, tell us whether the equipment is a furnace or heat pump and describe its startup behavior. If you smell gas or a carbon-monoxide alarm sounds, leave the building and contact emergency help from outside. Do not wait for an online service request.
