Current-source screening · Verified August 31, 2026
Rebates are not automatic. Your utility, fuel type, equipment, income rules and application date can all affect approval. For a qualifying replacement, Proven Comfort checks the current official programs before equipment is ordered. We show any possible rebate separately from the installed price.
What the screening captures
A proposal should name the official source, current status and rules that could change the result.
Confirm the installation address, electric utility and gas provider or fuel type.
Check whether the program is open, paused, out of funds or limited by an annual budget.
Match the proposed system to the program's efficiency, fuel, size and certification rules.
Find any approval, reservation, invoice or filing deadline before work begins.
Check whether the program requires an approved contractor before assuming the project qualifies.
Keep the installed price separate from a possible rebate until the program confirms it.
Georgia's official update reviewed August 31, 2026 says new HEAR applications have been paused since August 14. New HEAR fuel-switching projects stopped on August 10. Proven Comfort will not advertise a new HEAR heat-pump rebate as available while that pause remains.
The same state notice says Home Efficiency Rebate applications continue. Approval and the final amount can depend on energy savings, household or property rules, available funds and the program process.
Georgia Power, GreyStone Power, Cobb EMC, Sawnee EMC and Atlanta Gas Light offer different programs. Some cover items such as tune-ups, duct sealing, heat-pump changes, replacement systems or high-efficiency furnaces. The rules and funding differ. Some 2026 funds, including Cobb EMC's HVAC tune-up vouchers, are already used up.
For a qualifying replacement, Proven Comfort records the customer's utility or gas provider. We check the current program page and flag any step that must happen before equipment is ordered or installed.
The IRS currently says the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit applied to qualifying work placed in service through December 31, 2025. Proven Comfort will not show that credit for a 2026 installation unless federal guidance changes.
Tax rules control eligibility—not the HVAC contractor. Check the current IRS guidance and speak with a qualified tax adviser about your situation.

No. Proven Comfort can check current official sources and document the proposed equipment. The utility, agency or program administrator decides eligibility, funding and payment.
The state program update reviewed August 31, 2026 says new HEAR applications are paused effective August 14, 2026. We will recheck the official page before discussing it in a proposal.
The installed price and potential incentive should be shown separately unless a program has formally approved a contractor-applied amount. Many rebates are paid or confirmed after required documentation is submitted.
The installation address, electric utility, gas provider or fuel, current equipment type and the replacement being considered are the best starting points.
